With over 10 years of landscape design experience, we offer a complete garden design service from the initial site visit and consultation through to a fully developed plan. Whether designing a small urban garden or a large country landscape, we work closely with our clients to create practical, beautiful, and enduring spaces that reflect their vision.
The Garden Design Process
1. Initial Consultation
We begin with an introductory meeting to understand your aspirations for the garden. Together, we establish a project brief and outline budget. This first visit also includes a walk-through of the garden and a brief photographic survey to record key details.
2. Site Survey and Analysis
For small to medium gardens, we can carry out the site survey ourselves. On larger or more complex sites, we recommend a topographic surveyor to provide detailed measurements. We then analyse the site, gathering information on levels, drainage, circulation, and views to ensure the design responds naturally to its environment.
3. Concept Design
At this stage, we prepare two initial sketch plans supported by reference images to illustrate the proposed style, feel, and materials. Working closely with you, we refine the ideas—either selecting one concept to develop further or combining elements from both—to shape the final design direction.
4. Detailed Design
We then produce a full specification and a comprehensive materials schedule for your approval. Once agreed, a detailed costing is prepared to give a clear picture of the investment required.
5. Implementation
When the design and costs are approved, we schedule a start date and manage the full build of your new garden. Throughout the process, we maintain close communication, providing regular updates. Finally, we hand over a beautifully finished garden, ready for you to enjoy.
